Discovering Muir Woods: Salamanders
The Muir Woods National Monument is such a treasure to the Bay Area and California. It was a setting in several films, including the Planet of the Apes series. This old-growth redwood forest forms an incredible ecosystem. To discover the forest, we created a 3D penned salamander that can be found in Muir Wood’s wildlife.

Similar to how we created a crab, we started by the structure and added details:
- Doodle the body structure
- Create the skin
- Build and attach the four legs
- Add the eyes
It took us about an hour with eight 3Doodler Start’s brown strands.
Visiting Muir Woods
My daughter loves this 3D creation and grabbed it in hands throughout the entire visit! The pandemics surely brought serenity, compared to our pre-pandemic visits where parking itself was always an issue. We definitely recommend the Bay Area residents to discover this beautiful forest before the crowd is back.
