Adding a “hand-made” 3D penned croissant to the play food set

Croissant lovers — Today on January 30 is National Croissant Day! We literally just learned this special celebration in the afternoon and was thinking, hmmm, how about making a croissant with a 3D pen? It turned out to be a nice addition to my daughter’s play food set. What a wonderful idea, “Make Your Own Toys!”

Croissant making with a 3D pen

This is a freehand process, taking us about an hour with seven 3Doodler Start’s peach strands to create a 3 by 1.5 inch small croissant. Here is the process:

  1. Doodle the bottom shape of a croissant (tip: draw a shape on paper for tracing)
  2. Build the structure (tip: include different heights)
  3. Fill in its “skin”
  4. Add a bit white and yellow

3D pens make it easy to build up the structure and layers as it goes. After all, every croissant has its unique look 🥐 Enjoy!
